  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons demi-glace or stock-soy sauce mixture
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

  • 4 large eggs

Step-by-Step Instructions for Omurice

  • In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Add 2 cups of cooked rice, ½ cup of mixed vegetables, and ½ cup of cooked chicken or shrimp (if using) to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle in salt and pepper to taste, along with 2 tablespoons of demi-glace or your stock-soy sauce mix.
  • In a separate bowl, crack 4 large eggs and whisk them until fully blended.
  • Over medium-low heat, pour a small amount of oil into a non-stick skillet and let it warm up slightly. Then, pour in the whisked eggs.
  • Allow the eggs to cook for about 1-2 minutes, until they are slightly set but still a bit soft on top.
  • Carefully place a generous portion of the rice filling in the center of the omelet. Fold the sides of the omelet over the filling.
  • Slide the completed omelet onto a plate, seam side down, and drizzle with ketchup if desired.
