Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and minced garlic. Mix until fully combined and set aside.
  • Form small meatballs, approximately 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a plate.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil, and brown the meatballs for about 6-8 minutes.
  • Pour marinara sauce into the skillet, gently add meatballs, and let them simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Slice garlic bread rolls in half horizontally and place them cut-side up on a baking sheet.
  • For each roll, place a piece of mozzarella cheese, then a meatball, spoon the marinara sauce, and add another slice of mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake the assembled rolls for about 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool for a couple of minutes, and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
