Step-by-Step Instructions for Lasagna

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and gather all your ingredients.
  • Boil water in a large pot and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions (8-10 minutes).
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until translucent, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Add ground beef and Italian sausage to the skillet; cook until browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, sugar, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper; simmer for 15 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, mix ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and parsley until blended.
  • Spread meat sauce in a baking dish, layer noodles, then ricotta mixture, followed by meat sauce; repeat layers.
  • Finish with noodles topped with remaining meat sauce and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella.
  • Cover and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
