Ingredients
  

For the Pasta

  • 12 ounces linguine use whole wheat for a healthier twist or gluten-free if needed.

For the Seafood

  • 1 pound shrimp fresh, deveined shrimp enhance the dish's flavor and texture.
  • 1 pound mussels ensure they're fresh, tightly closed, adding a wonderful briny flavor.

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup white wine a dry white wine works best for a fantastic depth of flavor.
  • ½ cup garlic, minced fresh garlic is key for that aromatic essence.

For the Garnish

  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped this adds a pop of color and freshness to your pasta.

For Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil opt for extra virgin olive oil for superior richness.
  • 1 teaspoon salt enhances all the natural flavors.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper a dash of spice elevates every bite.
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes add for a touch of heat, if desired.

Cooking Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers. Add minced garlic, stirring frequently for about 1 minute until fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn it.
  • Pour in the white wine into the skillet with the sautéed garlic. Increase the heat slightly and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until it reduces.
  • Add the shrimp and mussels to the skillet, gently stirring to coat in the wine and garlic mixture. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes until the mussels open and shrimp are pink and opaque.
  • Carefully add the drained linguine to the skillet. Toss everything gently together until the linguine is well coated in the sauce. Mix in chopped parsley.
  • Plate the seafood pasta while it's fresh, garnishing with additional parsley if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Timing matters. Start boiling the pasta water while preparing the sauce. Fresh ingredients are key for the best flavor.
