Step-by-Step Instructions for Pan-Fried Chicken Dumplings

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, finely chopped Napa cabbage, chopped green onions, minced ginger, and minced garlic cloves. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly until completely combined.
  • On a clean surface, place a dumpling wrapper and use a spoon to add about 1 tablespoon of the chicken filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a few drops of water to help seal it. Fold the wrapper in half, pinching the edges tightly to secure the filling inside.
  • Take a large skillet and pour in vegetable oil, heating it over medium-high heat. Allow the oil to get hot enough that it shimmers. Once ready, gently place the dumplings in the skillet in a single layer.
  • Cook the dumplings for 2-3 minutes, watching closely as the bottoms turn golden brown and crispy. Gently flip the dumplings to ensure both sides get golden color.
  • Carefully add water to the skillet and immediately cover it with a lid. This steaming process will take about 5-7 minutes.
  • After steaming, remove the lid and let any remaining water evaporate, allowing the dumplings to crisp up again for another minute.
  • Your delicious Pan-Fried Chicken Dumplings are now ready to serve! Pair them with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
