Preparation Steps

  • In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of thick Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons of almond or peanut butter, ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract, a pinch of cinnamon, and a small pinch of sea salt. Stir vigorously for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  • If you prefer a bit of sweetness, drizzle in 1-2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup and whisk until fully incorporated.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of chia seeds and 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed (if using) and stir well for about 1 minute.
  • Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes to allow chia seeds to swell and thicken.
  • Rinse and pat dry the fresh berries, setting them aside.
  • Give the yogurt mixture a gentle stir and check sweetness.
  • Spoon the creamy yogurt base into a serving bowl.
  • Scatter fresh berries generously over the yogurt mixture.
  • Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate chips evenly over the berries.
  • Top it off with 2 tablespoons of granola for crunch.
  • Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes for a thicker texture.

Notes

This treat is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 days. The base can be frozen for up to 2 months without toppings.
