  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 ½ cups of flour, ½ cup of softened butter, ¼ cup of sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add 1 egg and mix until a smooth dough forms.
  • Roll the dough out into a circle about 12 inches in diameter. Fit the rolled dough into a 9-inch pie plate and trim excess dough.
  • Arrange 3 medium apples, peeled and sliced, evenly over the prepared pie crust.
  • In another bowl, whisk together ¾ cup of sugar, 2 cups of milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon, and ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg. Add 2 eggs and 1 tablespoon of flour, whisk until smooth.
  • Pour the custard mixture over the arranged apples and bake for approximately 50 minutes.
  • Once baked, cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
