Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions for Creamy Beef and Shells

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add 8 oz of pasta shells and cook according to the package instructions, about 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain the shells in a colander and set them aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat over medium heat. Add 1 lb of ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Once there’s no pink left, drain any excess fat.
  • Add 1 cup of tomato sauce, 1 cup of heavy cream, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the browned beef. Stir well and allow to simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Reduce the heat to low and gently mix in the cooked pasta shells, ensuring every shell is coated with the creamy beef sauce. Let this simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Sprinkle in 1 cup of cheddar cheese gradually, stirring continuously until it melts smoothly into the creamy sauce, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and serve the Creamy Beef and Shells warm. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs like parsley.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze the dish in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Reheat in a pot over low heat, adding a splash of cream or milk if needed.
